About Lisa
|
Lisa completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Linguistics at Massey University in Palmerston North. She intended to teach English as a second language in Japan but the Asian Market crash happened at the time of completing her degree, so she ventured instead into the arena of office work. She had also just finished a relationship where she experienced being the giver of unrequited love from which her book Living the Fairy Tale emerged. Unfortunately the book is going through a major redo as the cover looks like a romance novel or a kid's book, and people have requested other changes including the perspective of the receiver of unrequited love.
To start this new field of work Lisa moved to Auckland where she met and married Bryce. While in Auckland she changed occupations and completed her Post graduate Diploma of Primary Teaching, starting her first position at Somerville Intermediate in Howick, Auckland. After a few years Bryce and Lisa moved north and have been living since on the home dairy farm just out of Dargaville. Life seemed like it was going to be plain sailing for the pair until tragedy struck when Blair, their first child, died in the womb just prior to being induced. This was a severe blow to Lisa's outlook on the 'She'll be right mate" attitude of most kiwis (New Zealanders). The speedbumps continued to pop up in Lisa's life as she then had a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy and a her eldest had a bout with febrile convulsions. Lisa has now two healthy boys; one 6 and a half years old, and the other a 3 year old. Lisa is excited to be working now on her new book Motherhood Bliss? where she will discuss some of the experiences she has had with loss and also the demands of daily life with two full-on boys and a husband.
